About Us
Discover our history, values, and commitment to excellence in nursing and community health education in Papua New Guinea.
Our History
Rumginae School of Nursing was established in the 1960s as a Community Health Workers Training School to address the critical need for health workers in rural communities.
The school operated successfully for many years, training and graduating more than 800 Community Health Workers who have gone on to serve across Papua New Guinea.
In 1996, the school was closed. However, through the strong partnership between the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea (ECPNG), the government, and development partners, the school was revitalised and upgraded into Rumginae School of Nursing.
Today, RSON continues its mission of providing quality, faith-based nursing and health training to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to transform healthcare in rural and underserved communities.
